End of Spring 2021 Updates + Trojan Steel in the USC News

It's been a long time since we've last written a post, but we thought an end of semester update was overdue!

Trainer-Trainee Program

A few trainer-trainee pairs wrapped up their formal training for the semester, and although our teams appreciated having someone to support them and keep them on track towards their goals, everyone is excited to work out together in-person next semester.

Trojan Steel Workout Log

Because we remained online during Spring 2021, we set a goal of spending 150 hours doing some kind of physical activity as a club, which we tracked on a club-wide activity log. In setting up this program, we hoped members would be able to see when other students were exercising and even get ideas on different ways they could do so. We logged 198 hours of fitness this semester, with members staying fit through cardio, strength training, hiking, and many different sports.

Tracking your workouts is a great way to make sure you're moving enough and also for seeing your progress. We plan on keeping this sheet going in the coming year even when we're back in person.

Trojan Steel in the USC News

Trojan Steel was featured in an article about USC clubs moving online, and Justin Abe, our president, had some great words about how we pursued alternative ways to pursue fitness together. Give it a read here.

While some of our programs are on pause for the summer, if you haven't checked out the workout videos available on the website, they're still available here.

Closing Thoughts

No matter how much you were able to stay on top of fitness in the past year, we should all feel good about what we were able to accomplish. While this is always true, it is especially important during a time when options are limited and dealing with a pandemic is both physically and mentally exhausting. Whether you're excited to go back to the gym or feeling motivated to start going for the first time, things seem to be looking up for all of us. We look forward to seeing you all out there and at it in the fall!

That's all for now, folks. Thank you and Fight On!
